Artist Statement
Growing up I have always been around creative people, both my parents are into drawing and illustrations, but never really pursued drawing. I took the physical aspects of drawing by creating and appreciating art. It first started with animations and short I would see on tv, wanting to understand how cartoons are a gateway to creativity.
A lot of my influence comes from comic books such as Piccolo, and Jude Devir. Their style of realistic cartoons really influences me to make my art similar to that style. I also admire the raw feelings that Devir puts into his works and its relatability to everyone. That's how I want my art to come across as relatable and to move people in all the emotions.
The current series I'm creating is a series for African American girls called "The Ebony Series"  What I currently want to reveal is how African Americans women and girls in America are powerful they can be more than just dancers or singers. they can be scientist, artist, and powerful speakers and can do anything they put their minds to, despite how society tells them they are limited.  Another series I have started is the Orb's series. A lot of them have to do with different time of days in different setting such as forest, underwater, etc. I love nature in all of its disaster and marks of beauty. in theses orbs i want to capture some of that essence and share my interpretation of nature.
